N, do you take this woman as your mother?

Child I do.

Celebrant Do you take this man as your father?

Then the Celebrant, holding or taking the child by the hand, gives the
child to the mother or father, saying

As God has made us his children by adoption and grace, may
you receive N as your own son (daughter).

The Song of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

my spirit rejoices in God by Savior;
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
